This is one of my favorite products.....Lifewave Patches.....
My husband has had pain back since his service time in Vietnam, but as he's aging it is only getting worse. He's been on every type of pain medication with only temporary relief. All drugs take a toll on your body, and affect other organs in the process, so he was sincerely considering surgical/ permanent options.  Scary stories of operations gone terribly wrong, did not help my apprehension of these choices. While researching Glutathione, I came across the ICEWAVE patches from Lifewave. I ordered them and within minutes he had relief.....for the first time without drugs.  He's NOT CURED....but to have pain relief without drugs, or even less drugs, is a valuable resource of pain management to be considered. Lifewave has other patch products for stress relief, aging, energy, and different anti-oxidants.....I'm sold.....so I became an independent distributor.

Facebook junkie that I am, I am always amazed at how much good information gets posted. There is all kinds of articles for health, enlightenment, motivation .....not your normal newspaper fare of death, wars, suffering.

This chart (compliments of http://www.rawforbeauty.com)
is just one example of simple but useful health  info.
It urged me to web search the hydration topic, and I found some interesting facts specifically for children.

According to
http://www.thirsty-planet.com/

The Natural Hydration Council (NHC) have produced an easy to digest fact sheet, prepared by a scientific panel of experts, giving information and Top Tips on how to keep children hydrated.

“Children are at greater risk of dehydration than adults due to their lower body weight and smaller reserve of body fluids. Equally, whilst adults often have easy access to a supply of water, children tend to rely on their caregivers to provide drinks and often don’t recognise the early stages of thirst. Research suggests that just a 1% to 2% body weight loss can lead to significant reductions in concentration and mental performance. As a child’s body is around 60% water, it is important to keep them topped up with fluid during the day.”

The NHC has commissioned further research into the effect drinking water can have on  improving performance at school.  Findings have shown that increasing children’s water intake can:
  • Double school children’s interest in learning
  • Significantly increase cognition
  • Make children feel calmer and more alert in the classroom

Checkout one of my previous posts (7/18/2012) on the benefits of water.....
Sounds like we should all drink up!

Every once once in awhile, we just have to take some time for ourselves, or maybe to bond with our friends. There will always be a "busy" schedule; housework to do; projects to finish, or kids to take care of.....but make time for YOU, too.  Easier said than done....lol.

Yesterday, my friends and I took that time.....just a lunch, a little conversation, and at this particular location.....a step back in time.

We went to a tea house......quaint...Victorian....a little lace...and real china.....classical music in the background.......a soothing experience.  Do you remember those candy dishes that your grandmother may have had, with the three tiers, porcelain dishes connected with a golden dowel going through the center, each one a little smaller as it leveled upward. That's how our entire lunch was served......mini sandwiches on the bottom....scones, quiche and fruit on the second plate.....and finally topped with a few petite fores for the desert at the very top. This was preceded with a small china bowl of creamy tomato basil soup.....and a three page selection of amazing flavored teas to choose from, which came in it's own fragile tea pot for each person at the table. I could almost feel my little finger gradually rising on it's own......how genteel!

Everything was homemade, including a fabulous whipped cream butter spread for our scones, which tasted more like whipped cream than the butter it was supposed to be........ decedent, for sure!

Diet !.....did you say Diet?........I'm sure that word did enter our minds and quickly left, when we rationalized the importance of enjoying this brief and needed moment of camaraderie. That's why I started this entry with the words...."every once in awhile".
This was a moment to savor.....not a gobbled down, in flight, on the run, hurry up meal.....the textures, the soothing music, the ambiance, the flash-back to a more demure time. It was heavenly!......Take time to smell the roses....or on the teacup, at least.

The actual teapots ....classic!

Scentsy began with a simple idea — a safe, wickless alternative to scented candles — and quickly grew into one of the most successful direct selling companies in the world. This wickless concept is simply decorative ceramic warmers designed to melt scented wax with the heat of a light bulb instead of a traditional wick and flame. I was surprised at how well the Scentsy  distributed throughout the house with just one plug-in.......even my husband noticed...now that's saying something....

Unlike the traditional "party" companies, with Scentsy you can just go online to purchase, or create a "party" with the books or the internet.....how convenient is that!    I'm sold....go to http://www.donnasdomain.scentsy.us/

This is my auragraph from the professional
Well....I did okay last night.....There was only about 11 people in attendance and they claimed they really enjoyed my presentation. These were very intuitive people and they attempted to draw an auragraph for a fellow attendee. The results were fabulous......at the bottom of the drawing I printed 4 lines so that they could interpret what they drew, and the person could later remember the symbolism. Before giving their drawings to the name that was on the top of the page, each  auragraph was described and the reasons given for certain color choices and shapes.....Each person was pleasantly surprised at how well they were "read" by the other person.  The whole concept was more for enjoyment rather than technical instruction, but I thought the results were pretty profound......who knew!  Even those that said they were not "artists" realized it was more about the description than the quality of the drawing.
I had a "professional" auragraph done for me at a seminar.  Upon receiving mine, I asked a lot of questions as to how the artist "saw" what to draw.  I assumed she was looking at my aura (hence, the label "auragraph"), but I was told it was similar to a card or rune reading, only in picture form. Intrigued, I thought that anyone that was intuitive could experiment  with this unique entertaining concept.
In preparation for the meeting, I constructed printed papers with a large circle in the center, a line at the top for the person's name, and 4 lines at the bottom for an interpretation of the 4  most prevalent images within the drawing.  It gave a uniformity to the end product, and the visual that everyone had received a similar art form.  Each person wrote their name in the upper right corner, and then the papers were collected and redistributed to different fellow attendees, who actually then did the drawing (reading) for that person.
When everyone was finished, each person said which name was on their paper and explained their intuitive drawing for that person. Some were very insightful.......to say the least.......and this was the first time they had ever heard of this concept. Anyone that was having a hard time analyzing their own drawn shapes and colors, raised it up for the entire group to view, and everyone contributed their thoughts as to a possible interpretation of the individual elements, and the artist, at that point, chose what resonated more closely to their "feelings" of what they had drawn and completed the last four lines at the bottom.
In the end......everyone had a fun and interesting time, including me......amazing!

Sorry for the long absence from my blog.....I received many emails asking if I threw in the towel......I was really trying to find my "passion", something that would motivate me to blog everyday. It is said that your passion should drive you........sounds like a description of a "guy" to me, but I finally realized I should "Just Do It".....hmmmmm.....did I borrow that from a commercial?

Tonight I'm actually the guest speaker for a group of  enlightened friends ( I'm told as many as 20 may show up).  This group got together last month (they usually meet during the school year and take a break during the summer months), and the first meeting after the summer lull, they share what they have read, researched, or any classes and seminars they have attended since the last get-together.  Unfortunately, I was unable to attend, but I jokingly said that it was just as well that I didn't, because with all the things that I could possibly share, I would have consumed everyone else's time. The hostess laughed at my attempt at humor and said "no problem, you can be the speaker for the entire next meeting".........DUH!....hence, my guest speaking engagement.

I'm preparing now.....and as I'm waiting for the printer to spit out all the copies for my handouts, I knew that I should log in and let the blogging begin.

I'll let you know how it turns out tonight.......should be a hoot!......NOT.

Blood vessels are essential to delivering the nutrients our organs need to survive. A term commonly referred to as angiogenesis, but they can also feed cancerous growths.

Treatments for halting the growth of cancer-feeding blood vessels could be key to treating tumors. This term is known as anti-angiogenesis. The Angiogenesis Foundation has listed 32 Dietary sources of naturally-occurring anti-angiogenic substances.

William Li
(and his Youtube video: can we starve cancer?) makes a great case on pre-eliminating possible cancerous growth by changing our food consumption to include  sources that impede the blood feeding these growths need.

William Li also charts cancer treatments, medicinal treatments and natural or vitamin sources and their relative importance in the treatment of cancerous growths.
Go to YouTube and watch the 24 minute video, as William Li describes his angiogensis teleseminar for TED.....it's worth the time; obviously FOOD for thought, and  the direction we should all be turning to, to avoid obesity, tumors and the big "C".

I think the caption speaks for itself....but further research online also brought up some interesting facts.....

(According an article at Bodybydesign.com )
A normal adult is about 70% water. The brain is about 85% water ( brain function depends on having abundant access to water) and our blood over 90% water. Water is critical within our cells and between them. We can go without food for almost two months, but without water only a few days.
Under normal conditions, an adult body loses 8 to 12 cups of water a day. This increases when we are ill, exercise heavily or are in hot climates. We lose a significant amount of water every day through sweating, urination, bowel movements and even breathing. This water must be replaced in order for our body to keep functioning properly. If you become dehydrated, your body rations and recycles water for its most critical needs and all water losing functions are reduced. Toxic wastes are dumped into body tissue, fat, joints and muscles instead of being eliminated.

Water removes waste materials from our body. Without enough water, these wastes would build up within our tissue.
Water for our lungs, which must be moist to take in oxygen and excrete carbon dioxide.  It’s possible to lose a pint of liquid each day just exhaling.
Water for vital chemical reactions in our digestion and metabolism.
Water to carry nutrients and oxygen to the cells through the blood.
Water to lubricate our joints.
Water for the body to produce necessary hormones.
Water to help regulate our body temperature.
Water to help our muscles work efficiently.
Water for the body to absorb the essential substances in the food we eat.
Water is needed after a massage, to help flush out toxins and waste materials that have been stirred up, or created, in your tissue during the session and before Reiki treatments to help the flow of energy.
Water gives the brain the electrical energy for all brain functions, including thought and memory processes.
(According to Dr. Corinne Allen, founder of the Advanced Learning and Development Institute, brain cells need two              times more energy than other cells in the body. Water provides this energy more effectively than any other substance.)
When your brain is functioning on a full reserve of water, you will be able to think faster, be more focused, and experience greater clarity and creativity.  Daily hydration will not only help with better thinking, it can help prevent attention deficit disorder in children and adults. (as stated in an article by Merlin Hearn)

And according to the Mayo Clinic, the average adult loses more than 80 ounces of water every day through sweating, breathing, and eliminating wastes.

Drink Up!   .......It's a good thing(as Martha Steward might say)

I found this food chart on the web. It's a fabulous and easy tool to re-adjust what kinds of foods we're ingesting. All recent material with regard to cancers, say that those cells can't survive in an "alkaline" enviroment. That said, I think the most obvious direction in changing our food choices, is to switch to alkaline forming foods. My first change was to drink more water with lemon.....got to start somewhere........

Let me know what you're doing.....comment below
